![]() _Ghislain Rodoumbaye, age 27 - Assistant Director of ENVODEV Chad. Born in Dokoutou, southern Chad. Ghislain Rodoumbaye was raised in Moundou until the age of 18. He then moved to N'Djamena for graduate school. In 2010, he received his degree in telecommunications and industrial computing. "What interests me with ENVODEV is the term development. I know the reality of young Chadians. Once their studies are achieved, there is nothing. Even the unpaid internships are almost impossible to find. They often end up having to rely on day to day small activities. A young person is lucky if he manages to earn $60 a month. I wish to give time and energy toward ENVODEV’s projects in Chad. I believe the eco-briquette project to be relevant to this country. Life is hard. In the past, I used a gas stove for cooking, but it has been broken for two years. One day I invested in a gas ring after wood coal was banned, but my canister was stolen. It is no longer worth taking the risk. I now use a bundle of wood to cook my rice, but the smoke that it generates is difficult to bear. Each rice straw charcoal briquette that is fabricated is a piece of good news! " David De Armey has made it safely to Moundou. He will be meeting the Governor of Moundou tomorrow (Tuesday February 7th) to discuss the future of the eco-briquette project in the region.
